Event

Tokyo | Toshima-ku

The festival of the Togenuki Jizo-son Kogan-ji Temple is held three times a year, on January 24, May 24, and September 24. A memorial service is held twice a day, at 10:30 and at 14:30, in the Main Hall. The reading of the Daihan-nya Kyo by 20 monks including the Kuruma Chief Priest is truly stunning. Men and women extend their hands to touch the monks’ robes in order to be blessed with the benefits of good health. All are welcome to worship at the festival.
