Yamaguchi | Shimonoseki-shi

This is a festival to held as a memorial service for Hoichi the Earless, the famous legend of the Heike clan, which is also introduced in Kaidan (Kwaidan) written by Lafcadio Hearn (Yagumo Koizumi). The Bozen Festival (ritual) and the Biwa (a lute) performance are held in front of Nanamori-zuka, the tomb of the Heike clan and at Hoichi Hall in the precincts of the Akama Shrine (planned). The festival ritual is held in the precincts of the Akama Shrine; however, the Biwa Performance is held at the Ryugu Hall and there is an admission fee charged for it. (planned)
