This is a prominent spot for viewing the autumn foliage in the prefecture. The autumn foliage in this deep valley stretching for about 6km in the upper reaches of the Kakuma River acquires vivid colors. The fiery red colored leaves on both sides of the steep cliffs are especially breathtaking. From the lookout on the Kakuma Gorge walking trail one can view the autumn foliage of Onigajo, and the colored leaves of Kakuma Gorge.
