This is one of Japan’s 100 great castles where the Nanbu clan belonging to the Morioka han (feudal domain) lived, and now only the inner moat and stone walls remain in the park. This park was loved by Takuboku Ishikawa and Kenji Miyazawa when they were young, and is a place of relaxation for residents now. The park also has many cherry trees.
